Changing a Belt and a Quick Tour of this Unique 8" Gold Dredge.

Today we broke a belt for the air system on this 8" gold dredge up in Alaska. While changing the belt I had an opportunity to quickly show you the idea behind this unique dredge sluice box. The water exits the flare nice and slow and flows over the raised expanded spacer screen that sits a small distance above the heavy expanded over miners moss bellow. After this first catch, it flows over a grizzly screen before running through the lower sluice box. The design is a work in progress, but is still holding onto a lot of gold!
