Heart Dorodango Recipe 🩷⬇️⬇️⬇️
I made a heart-shaped Dorodango for Valentine’s Day ☺️ It’s a small size, so you can finish it in about 2 to 3 hours without waiting for drying time. The polishing takes time, so I added a little love dance with my husband 😆✨❤️ I asked “Wanna dance?” and he happily said “Sure! 🙌” 😊🩷
Ingredients
Clay 75 g
Sand 37 g
Water 13 g (a little more than usual)
You can also use clay-rich natural soil 🌱
Steps
1. Knead everything well for about 10 minutes.
2. Shape into a heart inside the bag. Tip: Don’t make the center too deep. A softly rounded heart is easier to polish.
3. Roll with a cup or slim bottle to harden the surface.
4. Use 2 teaspoons of water + 2 drops of olive oil and gently shape with the bottle.
Point 🌟
By making it nicely moist at the beginning and rolling to firm the surface, the sand moves inside and only fine clay gathers on the outside. When you soften that outer layer again, it works like creating a new outer layer. Because it bonds easily, the surface becomes less likely to peel.
5. Once the heart shape is beautiful, polish with a cup or slim bottle using the same water until it becomes shiny (about 20 minutes).
6. While it’s still moist and shiny, apply a mixture of mica and clay. After applying, rub well with your hands.
7. Then gently polish once with a bottle or cup to bring out the shine. There is still plenty of moisture inside, so it will soon turn cloudy.
8. When it becomes cloudy, keep rubbing using the remaining mica and clay powder until you no longer feel moisture. Finish with a soft fabric like stockings. If it turns cloudy again the next day, polish a little more firmly and it will shine again ✨
