Fire Powered Refrigeration — A/C & Fridge That Runs on Fire

I designed, built and tested a cooling system (refrigeration, air conditioning) that runs on fire, water, and road salt. Here’s how it works and how I built it, plus a short review of the X Laser Lab welder.

Most fridge and air conditioners on the planet work by boiling a liquid refrigerant to soak up heat, then moving that vapour somewhere else to dump it. Nearly all of them use an electric compressor to drive the loop. This one uses heat and chemistry instead.
