[ROS Tutorials] ROS Perception #Unit 0: Introduction

This is the introduction unit to this perception in ROS course using RobotIgniteAcademy (http://www.theconstructsim.com/construct-learn-develop-robots-using-ros/robotigniteacademy_learnros/) platform.

Perception is probably one of the most important things when we talk about autonomy. In this course you will learn how perception is performed by robots using the ROS Framework.

You will learn:
- Use OpenCV with ROS
- Make robots track objects by their colour blobs
- Make robots navigate following floor lines with only a RGB camera
- Make robots detect human faces and track them
- Make robots recognise different faces
- Make robots track a person through a 3D environment
- Make robots recognise flat surfaces, like tables where objects might be placed
- Make robots recognise objects and track them in a 3D space with PointCloudSensors

[ Requirement before starting this course ]
- ROS Basics (http://www.theconstructsim.com/construct-learn-develop-robots-using-ros/robotigniteacademy_learnros/ros-courses-library/ros-basics-in-5-days/). You need to know all the basics of ROS to be able to follow this course.
- Knowledge of TF (http://www.theconstructsim.com/construct-learn-develop-robots-using-ros/robotigniteacademy_learnros/ros-courses-library/tf-ros-101/) and URDF (http://www.theconstructsim.com/construct-learn-develop-robots-using-ros/robotigniteacademy_learnros/ros-courses-library/robot-creation-with-urdf/)
- Basic knowledge of Python
- Robotics Perception Basic Knowledge (only for a smoother experience)
- Some knowledge of how PIDs work
