I was wondering how they managed to make a complete ceiling fitting so cheap. It turns out to be very obvious.
But the fitting does have possibilities as a project enclosure with diffused dome for lighting effects.
The plastic dome does appear to have self extinguishing properties. It would not support flame and immediately puffed up with some smoke.
