Finding Chunky Gold! At the Trout Creek Mine.

Pete and I found some nice chunky gold in a 1/2 day run at the Trout Creek Mine. We give the mine one last shot before we leave the site for the summer during the fire season. because I don't want to be the guy who causes the next big forest fire in our area, and the forests are tinder dry right now. We will be back at it once the rain starts falling again.

At the trout creek placer mine, we are a small scale mining operation which uses small scale mining equipment. We feed our simple wash plant with a bobcat. Mining with a bobcat is not ideal, but it is simple. The wash plant design is such that there are no moving parts and can be fed with a bobcat. We love finding real gold, including finding gold nuggets sitting on bedrock on this placer claim.
