DIY Radio Telescope / Satellite Finder Made From Old Dish

This is a pretty basic motorized satellite dish for radio astronomy and/or amateur satellite experimenting. The basic components are:
-An old TV dish (often free on classified sites)
-An old "Pan/tilt/zoom" security camera mount (found as surplus).
-An RTL-SDR Software Defined Radio (eBay or Amazon, I have the cheapest one).
-An old laptop running Ubuntu Linux and GQRX radio software
-A pair of 9v batteries to power the dish
-A homemade controller to power the PTZ mount
-A crummy tripod
-Some random antenna adapters to go from Cable to SDR
This is my first attempt at doing something like this. Future improvements might include some of the following:
-Better SDR
-Better tripod / mount
-Better adapters / connectors
-Satellite TV decoder for free channels?
-Automatic tracking system?
-Battery pack or remote power setup so I can try this in more open areas?
I might also experiment with weather and remote sensing satellites like NOAA or GOES, but those will likely require a different antenna / receiver setup.
