Inside an expensive TCP high efficiency light bulb from ASDA

The main reason I bought this bulb was because of its vastly inflated cost compared to the others on the same shelf at ASDA. I wanted to see if the circuitry inside was special.

To help sell the image of being better, the bulb is supplied in a huge box compared to normal lamps.

There are very strong similarities in the design compared to Philips equivalent high efficiency lamp. That includes the strikingly similar circuitry.

Spoilers - the secret sauce seems to be running high efficiency LEDs at lower current with a very efficient low loss buck converter.

Will it last the 50,000 hours they claim? Do any of the other high lifespan LED bulbs last as long as they claim? I'll just be a bit skeptical about that as usual.
