This was another obsolete gadget I bought because it looked interesting. It's a 90s-era industrial computer designed for intventory tracking, barcode scanning, timeclock use, etc. The brain is a VG-230 Palmtop processor, and it has a little CGA screen, dual PCMCIA slots, miniature keyboard, and rugged case.

Unfortunately it's not all that useful these days, and has been made even less useful by the prior owner cleaning out the firmware of any interesting programs. If I could get it to talk to a serial port I could theoretically install DOS or a terminal emulator. However, I haven't had any luck getting it to communicate via RS-232.

I'm currently looking for ideas for this, the leading one being to gut it and replace the insides with modern hardware.
