Looking for white quartz under snow (Winter gold prospecting)

Cure for cabin fever. Gold prospecting in the winter. Dayna and I went out to look at a new Hardrock gold claim I just picked up, right on the side of a highway so access was easy even in the winter. We checked out where the "Minfile" (old prospecting reports) said to look and grabs some quartz samples. But after some closer inspections of all the old prospecting files we found a good map that showed us we were digging on the wrong side of the highway. But at least we got out and had some fun and got a good look at the mineral claim.
