Gardening as a firefighter means losing crops every time you get called away. This is how I fixed it with the Harvst WaterMate Pro and automated polytunnel watering across four independent zones.
I fight wildfires. And every time I got called away during summer, I came back to the same thing. Cracked tomatoes. Dead baskets. Beds that had been cooking in a sealed polytunnel for days with no water.
This year I finally sorted it. I installed the Harvst WaterMate Pro in my main polytunnel and set it up across four independent zones. Overhead watering for the baskets on both sides, and drip irrigation already laid into both main growing beds. And I did it all before a single plant went in, which is exactly when you should be doing it.

We built the whole system onto an OSB board with all the cables hidden behind it, mounted on the IBC with cable ties for now, and moving to aluminium clips so the whole thing lifts off in seconds for winter storage.
