1. Mix sand, clay, and water, then knead for 10 minutes.
2. Gently shape it into a heart 💜
3. Roll it with pottery or glass to smooth the surface.
4. Let it dry for 1 day.
5. Soak it in water for about 20-30 seconds.
6. Roughly shape it into your preferred form.
7. Sprinkle with clay powder.
8. Repeat the process of adding water and gently polishing it until it shines.
9. Rub a mixture of mica powder and clay powder onto the surface.
10. Repeat the polishing process with a small amount of water until it shines.
11. When shiny, polish with glass or ceramics.
12. Rub fine clay powder on your hands, polish, then use glass or ceramics again. Repeat this process for a while.
13. Finally, polish with a cloth to complete!
14. Polish again with a cloth that night and the next morning for a long-lasting shiny heart Dorodango!

Give it a try!

This recipe is different from the round shape. Since it’s heart-shaped, you can’t polish it as hard as a ball. It won’t have a mirror finish like a sphere, but it will still shine beautifully! ☺️✨

For a simpler version without mica powder, just continue the polishing process with glass and clay powder after it starts to shine.

If you want to add hemp cord, tie it in a few places while forming the heart and embed it into the clay. This way, you don’t need to worry about it coming out later.

Give it a try!
It makes a lovely gift too 💓💓
