I upgraded the infrared thermal camera on my Rasperry Picorder to an MLX90640 sensor (previously I was using an AMG8833 sensor with less resolution).

After a few false starts and a possibly faulty sensor unit, I got the thermal camera mostly working. I still have a few issues to iron out, for example it doesn't want to work below 0 degrees C. Hopefully we can address some of those problems in a follow-up video.

I also have a few more sensors and gadgets that I'd like to add to this device, such as RFID. Those will also be a future video!

The thermal sensor I'm using (the one that works) is here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08QCT423T
(I would recommend avoiding the cheaper ones on eBay, as the first one I got seems to be defective).

The code I'm using to visualize sensor data can be found here: https://www.instructables.com/MLX90640-IR-Thermal-Camera-Working-With-Raspberry-/

I also tried these two methods / scripts, but couldn't get them to run on this picorder (Tom Shaffner's code worked on another Pi with a bigger screen, so maybe my LCD hat is just too small).
