We turned THOUSANDS of recycled bottle caps into a giant workshop entrance mural! 🎨

People send bottle caps to our workshop every single week, and while we love using them in our recycled products, we wanted to try something a little different. We decided to make a massive mural for the entrance of our workshop so that everyone knows they're in the right place the second they arrive!
Having built a bottle cap mural in the past, we knew doing it the old-fashioned way - screwing hundreds of individual caps straight into a vertical brick wall - came with a ton of hurdles and a massive headache. Fortunately, we managed to overcome almost all of those hurdles by partnering up with xTool for this video. They sent us their flagship xTool P3 Laser Cutter, which completely transformed our workflow.
Instead of working on the wall, we used the P3 to cut out flat backing panels, allowing us to build the entire mural horizontally on our workbench before screwing the finished sections up side-by-side. The also laser etched precise guides and grid locations right onto the wood, telling us exactly where every colour cap needed to go.
It also made full use of their xTool Studio software. From our experience using it on this project, it was super intuitive and easy to pick up - even if you don't have much experience with design or modelling software, it guides you through step-by-step. Its built-in AI tools handle smart layouts, file prep and automated setups with just a click, making the whole process super simple.
