Canadian Opals!

To answer a few of your questions;

No, these opals do not glow under a black light.
Yes, I realize Australian opals are nicer.
Yes Canada has opals too, just VERY rare.
Potch is a term Australians use for common opal, here we generally just call it common opal.
The orange opal is VERY close to "Fire Opal" and probably could be called such.

And a statement for those who are saying why bother, or why so excited, "Australian opals are better"

I have quite a few Australian opals that people have generously sent me, and yes, they're absolutely beautiful. Would I love ours to look that good? Of course I would. But they don't, and I acknowledged that in the video.
What excites me isn't that they're better than Australian opals—it's that I'm able to find Canadian precious opal at all. There are only a very small handful of places in Canada where precious opal has been found, and I'm incredibly proud to have discovered one of them. As far as Canadian opal goes, this is an amazing discovery, and that's what I'm celebrating.
