@UtmostOutdoors This local village in Papua New Guinea got themselves a highbanker to improve their hand mining operation at a local river. I was invited to PNG to help them get it setup for the first time and enjoyed meeting the friendly locals who did a great job of setting up the machine.
They own the mining operation and keep 100% of the gold.
They were able to process over 2500 shovels in just two days! With a traditional river sluice, they may only be able to process closer to 200 shovels in a day.
This highbanker concentrates gold by using river water to clean the gravels, without the use of any chemicals.
With the current high gold prices and a relatively low minimum wage in PNG, mining operations like this can do a lot to help improve the lives of the local community.
