he Creek Exposed Gold the Old-Timers Couldn’t Reach

I returned to the massive gold deposit from my last video—this time with a traditional Betea gold pan capable of processing up to seven shovels of gravel at once! Another session of Australian gold prospecting produced several hundred dollars’ worth of gold, bringing my recovery close to $1,000 across just two visits. This big gold pan moves serious dirt, but finding the right ground is what makes the difference.

The modern creek has exposed virgin ground in an ancient river channel, or palaeochannel, previously hidden beneath farmland and untouched by the old-timers. Join me as I follow this alluvial gold deposit, dig the newly exposed gravel and put the Betea pan to work.
