Is GOLD the Safe Haven from Coronavirus Fears?

There is a major virus outbreak going on in China. It is very contagious and deadly for some people. The latest numbers from China seem like they might be hinting at a slow down, but experts say it’s much too early to determine whether the outbreak is under control and slowing.
Some experts, government officials and academics, are saying they believe the “worst is yet to come” and that the “stock market is not appreciating the potential dangers to the economy...” If this happens, gold prices would skyrocket and stocks would tumble. The danger of a pandemic spread of this new coronavirus across the planet is still very real.
There seem to be two possibilities for the suture of this disease; 1) if the outbreak becomes a pandemic gold prices would skyrocket and stocks would tumble. On the other hand, if the virus really has come under control it will soon start to recede and disappear. Even if this is true, there will still be a significant world economic impact. Apple announced it would not meet its projected quarterly sales numbers because of the coronavirus and Apple will not be the last company to see large economic impacts. The global economy was already in fragile shape before the outbreak. The real reason that gold is rising is that governments around the world – including the US – are manufacturing money and pumping it in to their economies to keep them afloat. The world has become addicted to the drugs of government stimulation. Gold is real money and cannot just be made by pushing a button to credit an account with government money. Gold is rare and has always been valuable. That is why it is so important to have some gold in your portfolio. It’s an investment in security. Now I’m not an investment advisor, and these are only my own thoughts and opinions on this matter.
