In this video, I take a quick look at the new ComMarker Omni X UV laser engraver, the upgraded version of the Omni 1, and give you my first impressions of it. This machine brings major improvements, including a fully enclosed shielded design, autofocus, exhaust control, and compatibility with rotary and slide extension accessories.

I’ll walk you through the assembly, software setup, and autofocus process, then test some of the Omni X’s most exciting features like 3D crystal engraving using ComMarker’s new laser engraving software.

We’ll test:
- 3D engraving inside crystal blocks
- Photo engraving on and inside glass
- Swapping lenses for larger work areas
- UV laser marking on sensitive materials (plastics, fabric, food, metals, etc.)

The results are impressive - especially the 3D engravings inside glass that look like fine silk suspended in resin. I also cover some drawbacks, like the noise level, but overall, the Omni X is shaping up to be one of the most versatile UV laser engravers I’ve tested.

If you’re looking for a machine that can handle delicate materials without damage, while still offering the flexibility to engrave glass, photos, crystals, metals, and more, the ComMarker Omni X is worth considering.

Edit: 3D crystal engraving took ~30 min each, photos took 10-15 min each. ComMarker doesn't currently sell the crystal blocks but you can find them elsewhere online for ~$20-30 CAD (example below). If you have any questions, post them in the comments.
