In this video you are going to learn how to convert a ROS Laser Scan message into a Point Cloud 2 message, using Python.

Why would you need that? Because you may want to use a laser to do 3D scans attaching to it a motor. In this video you will see how to make the conversion of a single ray into Point Cloud. In the future, we will show how to concatenate several laser scans into a single point cloud in order to get the 3D view of a room.

We are using the ROS Development Studio (http://www.theconstructsim.com/rds-ros-development-studio/) to show how to create the nodes and test them with a Kobuki simulation.

For the solution, we are using the package laser_geometry: http://wiki.ros.org/laser_geometry
