Want to Make Money Scraping Metal? Focus on Copper!

Lots of the copper supply comes from recycled materials, and brass is mostly copper. Brass is usually around 60% copper so it’s valuable. In this video I will show my technique for melting and making cleaner brass. To get your best price and sell to a recycler – scrap values for clean material - all the steep and other junk must be removed. I will turn “dirty and contaminated” brass into clean brass by melting. Use a flux and don’t overheat – brass melts not far below the boiling point of zinc. If you get it too hot, the zinc will catch “fire”. Brass is worth recycling – copper is in demand shortage. Zinc is getting scarce too.
