Hi,
here I show you the conversion of my conventional Extron lathe to a CNC machine with LinuxCNC.
It was much work but it will be worth it for the many parts I am planning to turn on it for my Stirling engines.
I show my workflow with Fusion 360 CAD / CAM into LinuxCNC which is straightforward but for easier parts its uncomfortable to work also with Windows to use Fusion 360.
I miss the G71 cycle but maybe NGCGUI will be nice when I have some experience with it.
I am so enthusiastic about LinuxCNC that I will also change my milling machine to LinuxCNC which is now running on an old DOS program.
The basics of LinuxCNC are very easy and you can make everything you want.
It is a fantastic software many thanks to all LinuxCNC developers!
Greetings and best wishes
Ralf
