While browsing bangood's site I found these wide-beam lasers designed to create a visual neon-tube type of effect in the air. The green one is fine, but the red one is WAY off alignment.
It's interesting that the inline regulators appear to be simple linear current regulators and not switching ones, so they are best operated in the 3.6 to 4V region max.
