Access to claims, experienced prospectors to help you learn the ropes, as well as finding friendship and comradery. You will also find prospectors who know the local spots as well as the local rules and restrictions (if any). All of that is why I recommend to new people wanting to get into gold prospecting that the first thing you ought to do is join a club.
