What is the best way to measure the temperature in an outdoor pottery firing? Many use the old standby thermocouple and pyrometer. But infrared thermometers have some advantages in an open, above ground pottery firing. In this video I compare the two in measuring the temperature of a pottery firing and discuss the pros and cons.
