Cassiterite is one of the main ores of tin, and in this video I run through the process of sluicing, concentrating, and smelting it down into usable metal while also recovering any gold hiding in the heavies.

Using basic prospecting and smelting methods, I show how heavy mineral concentrates can be separated, reduced, and cleaned into metallic tin. Along the way we also look at slags, reduction flames, concentrates, and what the old-time miners may have thrown away.
