Since everyone else has already launched or sunk or melted down their silver play buttons, I decided to do something a little different! I hooked it up to a NanoVNA and it just happens to resonate around 250-260mhz. That means I can use it as a Satcom antenna to listen to US Military satellites!

Since the FLTSATCOM units were launched in the 1970s before security was invented, most users today are truck drivers in Brazil. I've done another video about the phenomenon here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HT2i7mFpFxM

By itself the play button isn't a very good antenna, but when it's hooked up to a satellite dish it actually works! I could hear Portuguese voices on various Satcom transponders, probably truck drivers and loggers using it as an informal CB radio system.

Thanks to everyone who helped me hit 100k!
