In the video Redox Active electrolyte - Supercapacitor I show you the use of redox active additive in electrolyte for hybrid supercapacitors.

Hybrid supercapacitor:

Pozitive electrode is made from MnO2 + carbon black for the active material and graphite foil current collector

Negative electrode is made from activated carbon and carbon black for the active material and graphite foil current collector.

For both electrode I also use some graphitic carbon fiber that will hold the active material in place.

For the electrolyte I use 1 mol sodium sulfate in test cell 1 and 1 mol sodium sulfate + 0.3 mol of Potassium hexacyanoferrate(III) in test cell 2.
