I wanted to follow-up on the "Don't Look Up" research paper published by some UCSD researchers last year (https://satcom.sysnet.ucsd.edu/). This research found that around 50% of geostationary satellite links contained some kind of unencrypted data traffic. The researchers were able to overhear internet connections, phone calls, and other networks.
