I wanted to follow-up on the "Don't Look Up" research paper published by some UCSD researchers last year (https://satcom.sysnet.ucsd.edu/). This research found that around 50% of geostationary satellite links contained some kind of unencrypted data traffic. The researchers were able to overhear internet connections, phone calls, and other networks. I had previously done a quick video about this topic (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SXVBh_6IGs) but in this video I'll be doing more of a hands-on experiment!
