How to make a Neptune dorodango is right here ⬇️⬇️⬇️
Thank you for all the requests! So many of you asked me to make a Neptune dorodango, so here it is!
This is the basic recipe:
Clay 130g
Sand 75g
Water 23g
✳︎ If using natural soil, you may not need sand. But if the clay content is very high, add a little sand to help it breathe and dry.
Today I started from a finished dorodango that had been returned to earth, so the moisture content is higher than usual.
⚫︎ Knead well and form into a ball
⚫︎ Roll to firm it up
⚫︎ Scrape into a round shape using the edge of a jar or stainless steel
⚫︎ Polish with an egg cup and water
⚫︎ Apply a mix of mica and clay powder to the surface
⚫︎ Rub it in by hand
⚫︎ Polish gently with your hand and cup
⚫︎ Since the inside had a lot of moisture this time, I repeated the process of resting for 1 hour and then polishing a little
⚫︎ Polish until it shines and you’re done!!
✳︎ A 2-hour tutorial on YouTube covers the full process in detail, including materials and the theory behind why it shines. Go check it out!
My favorite tools are available through the link in my profile!
Have fun making it!
