I wanted to show the final stage of the cleanup system we were using while gold dredging in Alaska. Step one was to reduce down concentrates from the large 8" gold dredge using my Utmost Adventurer fine gold highbanker. It turns out we got lucky and it works very well at reducing down dredge concentrates to a smaller size. After we finish with the highbanker out on the river bank right next to the dredge, we bring back a little bag of super concentrates to the Gold Hog Multi Sluice, which takes the roll of final cleanup sluice by reducing down concentrates all the way to just a few spoons worth to clean out.
At this point in the trip, we are trying to learn how different parts of the gold dredge's experimental sluice box are working. We did a bunch of different cleanouts of the gold dredge for our own learnings, as well as some tests where we dredged only the overburden, then only bedrock, to compare the results and see where the gold was best.
I will put together a quick tour of the dredge it's self next week and show you more of how the design is working out.

Thanks for watching this Alaska series. I hope you are able to get an idea of what it was like out there, and maybe learn a thing or two along the way. I'm always picking up new little tips and tricks and love the learning process along the way!
