In this video I reduce the platinum and palladium to a salt using DMG (Dimethylglyoxime). Filter out the DMG precipitate, then dissolve the precipitate in hot Aqua Regia. Then, I use pure zinc metal to reduce the pure platinum and palladium down to a fine black mixed PGM (Platinum Group Metal) powder and remove excess zinc with hydrochloric acid rinses in preparation for the refining.
