This is quite a handy little timing module for controlling 120/240V loads. It has a four way DIP switch that allows 16 different time delays to be set, ranging from one minute to 8 hours.
Although configured to power the load for the set time before turning it off, it looks like it's viable to solder directly to the other terminal for turning the load on after a delay. Or even toggling between two loads.
The use of a capacitive dropper means that the unit is set for 220-240V as supplied, but for 120V countries there is the option to change the red dropper capacitor to a 680nF or 820nF one, or just bridge another 470nF capacitor in parallel with the existing one.
As with all these simple capacitive dropper circuits, there will be a bit of heat dissipated by the zener diode when the relay is off.
The unit can also be run directly from a 24V DC supply if desired. I measured the active current (with relay energised) at 24mA.
Here are the switch settings for different time delays. Start with all the switches off.
All off = 1 minute.
Switch 1 on = 3 minutes.
Switch 2 on = 5 minutes.
Switch 1+2 on = 10 minutes.
Switch 3 on = 15 minutes.
Switch 1+3 on = 25 minutes.
Switch 2+3 on = 30 minutes.
Switch 1+2+3 on = 40 minutes.
Switch 4 on = 50 minutes.
Switch 1+4 on = 1 hour.
Switch 2+4 on = 1.5 hours.
Switch 1+2+4 on = 2 hours.
Switch 3+4 on = 3 hours.
Switch 1+3+4 on = 4 hours.
Switch 2+3+4 on = 5 hours.
Switch 1+2+3+4 on = 8 hours.
This module is available from various sources, but this one came from AliExpress.
It's available with or without a case, but I recommend the cased version for ease of mounting.
If you want one then here's a link to the item on AliExpress (not a sponsor).
