A simple way to add storage and flotation to a cheap plastic kayak! This is an 8' Water-Quest Aruba model (These are common under various names at big chain stores). I sealed off the rear area with sprayfoam and installed a watertight hatch in the stern. Now I can store stuff and keep it dry while out paddling! Total cost was under $20 and these kayaks can be found on sale for under $100. A hatch and bulkhead, plus some of my earlier mods like bow bungees, gives this the features of a $200 kayak model!
