Jade Hunting, How to "Identify" and "Test" Jade and Gem Serpentine!

Jade hunting on the Mighty Fraser river in British Columbia, Canada. In this video I spend an afternoon looking for jade and Gem Serpentine on one of my Fraser River Jade claims. I find many pieces that could be Jade (Nephrite) or could be Gem Serpentine. I then take them home and run them through 3 tests to determine if it is in face BC Jade or just gem serpentine. Then I sent them away to the lab to be tested.

Nephrite is the mineral name for what we all know as Jade.
Gem Serpentine is a serpentine that started down the transformation into Jade but did not complete it due to either a lack of time, heat, or the correct chemistry.
