1962 Dorsett Catalina with V8 Jet Drive - Test Runs and First Impressions

I recently bought a vintage fiberglass cruiser. This is a Dorsett Catalina 17ft, the 1962 model. It has a Chevy 350 with a Berkley water jet, probably installed sometime in the 1970s. The boat mostly works but has plenty of dents, scrapes, and other "character" as you'd expect from any of my projects!
Top speed so far is about 32mph. I've already noticed a few problems, like the complete inability of Dorsett Hulls to drain water out. The jet also has an annoying habit of sucking up all the salad (lake weeds).
This boat will feature in more videos this summer as we do some repairs, upgrades, and hopefully more trips!
