Can Faraday Bags Protect Your Phone From Surveillance?

I tested a number of "phone shield" products that claim to block signals getting in or out of your electronic devices. I also tested some DIY and alternative solutions like tinfoil and metal boxes. Which ones worked and which ones didn't? There are a lot of these products out there, and not all of them are good! If you live somewhere with government overreach, oppressive dictators, or crackdowns on protests and civil rights, you might want to know what will hide your phone from prying electronic eyes.

Spoiler alert: 4 layers of regular old aluminum foil works pretty well!
