How a tiny metal puzzle halved our manufacturing time. 🧩🕶️
For the past two years, making our recycled sunglasses has been our absolute favourite project - but we hit a major wall.
With all of the work that goes into each pair, we were limited to making just 6 per a day. That’s fine for selling through our website, but it meant we could never open up to retail or wholesale.
We spent months brainstorming solutions, and we came up with a potential solution with our friends @prash.makes and @a.chappel - and we were so close to pulling the trigger on a custom inlay... until we saw a genius reel from @trashgearco 🤯
His 'puzzle' inlay was the missing piece. This multi-part design disassembles and pulls out perfectly, leaving a flawless groove every single time. No heat, no forcing, and most importantly - no 30-minute cleanup.
We’ve now implemented the puzzle in our own mould and officially doubled our production speed. Perfect! 🚀
