This video shows the steps required to integrate the OpenCV library into a C+ROS2+ Node. The example shown builds a "hello-world" binary that publishes an image to the ROS2 network. After this video you should be able to use OpenCV to do other things related to image processing and computer vision and make the results available to other ROS2 nodes. This video shows a ROS 2 applications for the Humble Hawksbill distribution.
You'll learn:
- How to verify whether OpenCV is already installed
- What dependencies are needed by the ROS2 node to build
- How to link against OpenCV in your CMakeLists.txt
- What a minimal implementation looks like
- As an extra: How to overlay text to an OpenCV image
