I evaporate to dryness by mistake. Then I rehydrate the solution with hydrochloric acid and a little heat. Then filter the solution and reduce by evaporation to 20ml per gram of material. After cooling, I add a saturated solution of ammonium chloride to precipitate any platinum. But instead of platinum I get a thick precipitate of Pd2 needle like crystals. These are undesirable so I redissolve with some warm dilute hydrochloric acid.
