Is PlayStation to blame for $70 games? Microsoft raising prices on first party Xbox games in 2023

Microsoft has announced that going into 2023, all their first party games that were made specifically for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, like Starfield, Redfall, Halo or Forza Motorsport (Forza 9) will get more expensive, with prices going up to $70, £70 or €70! So who is to blame for that industry wide price increase? Playstation and Sony already increased their prices for their AAA PS5 games a few years ago. But is Sony to blame? Why is Microsoft increasing their prices now? And will gamepass get more expensive going forward? In this video I break down my thought on the topic and react to the Microsoft announcement.
