Review of Cheap Home Alarm System (Smart Life "Home Alarm System House Burglar Security WiFi")

I bought a cheap (~$50) alarm system online as part of our ongoing project to keep cats off the kitchen counters. In this video I'm seeing if and how well it works. (Spoilers below if you don't want to watch).

Result: Complete junk. Painfully loud, minimal settings, little to no wifi connectivity, and the status beeps are louder than the actual alarm siren! This doesn't work at all for what I want, and is literally painful to use. I'm returning it while I still have some hearing left.

Currently this is being sold under the "D1D9" brand, listed as a "Home Alarm System House Burglar Security WiFi Wireless" and part of the "Smart Life" app family. However, products like this change their brand and model names on a regular basis to avoid review and import issues. The remotes are identical to "CPVAN" products and some others I've seen.
