AliExpress unbag joy - the Onlycams edition for getting your phone or camera mounted

Oh dear! It turns out that onlycams is a porn website. But I'm sure they probably use equipment just like this for making their erotic content.

But anyway, here's another pop-shot of technical goodies from AliExpress for us to explore.

These videos are not sponsored by AliExpress. I buy all these items myself.

Here are some links to the items. These are affiliate links, but that will not affect the price you pay.
Keep in mind that these products may not meet your country's standards.
Some listings may not work for some countries and some may just be sold out or disappear.

When paying on AliExpress, let the transaction complete before leaving the purchase page as otherwise it may not go through.

The magic arm. Not the exact branded one I showed, but virtually identical:-

I recommend the longer 11" version.

The super-clamp style grip is on the same listing:-

The solid circular ceiling/wall mount with woodscrews:-

The universal locking swivel adaptor:-

The very rugged Ulanzi phone gripper:-

Another MUCH CHEAPER unbranded version of the same thing:-

The pack of 8 adapters for 5/8" to 3/8" and 1/4".

A listing that has a range of different adapters:-

A link to a typical "DSLR cage" as a search start:-

These cages are ideal for making custom pro filming rigs, either portable or as a permanent setup in a studio environment.
They are machined from aluminium, and are priced accordingly.

If you've considered making technical content for YouTube my advice is to just do it. Once you start making videos everything will fall into place including your own unique style.
Your phone probably has a great camera. The more videos you make with it, the better you'll be able to use it. I use Open Camera as a nice standard manual interface.
Don't be put off by the sound of your own voice, as others hear it completely differently.
Relax and make your video as if someone is there with you for a more personal feel.
Experiment with lighting until you get a look you're happy with.
Ignore the people who inevitably complain about everything - they are a tiny minority.
If trolls start to bully or harass you in the comments then just block them.

I've seen too many potentially great technical channels stop making videos because they felt their content was not good enough (It was perfectly good).
