IS BOTTLE PICKING WRONG?

After the week I've had, I've been wondering about this side of dumpster diving. It's a great way to earn a little extra cash, but there are some people who really don't appreciate it. Is there a reason?
Then this morning i'm out on a trash picking adventure and I run into a city worker who shares another side to this topic, leaving me with a difficult moral dilemma. Is bottle picking WRONG? Please comment on this video, I'm not asking rhetorically!
