Solid State batteries potentially offer a step change in the Electric Vehicle revolution currently under way. They are smaller, lighter, safer, and pack more energy in for longer range. But are they actually commercially viable? Researchers all over the planet are racing to be the first to market, and among the contenders is one of the world's most unsung heroes : John B. Goodenough - creator of the original Lithium Ion Battery. Looks like being an interesting contest!
