Electric Vehicles : An unstoppable transition or just an oil price reaction?

The conflict in Iran and the blockage of the Strait of Hormuz has unsurprisingly caused a global oil price crisis and a spike in interest in electric vehicles. But is the higher cost of diesel and gasoline really the only factor in the electric transition? A new report says no - it's much more complex and nuanced than that. And the transition was probably already primed and ready to accelerate anyway.
