The first versions of these I looked at were very hand-made looking, with standard rippled diffuser plastic panels glued into a cube on a wooden base. But this unit is a very evolved version with a custom moulded case and wood-coloured base with all the required mountings for ease of manufacture.

The effect of these is very similar to commercial ripple projectors. The cost is low enough to get just for the components to make a higher power custom unit.

The unit has a fairly decent light output due to a 5050 package fitted with beefy LED chips. But it's not as bright as the listing images usually imply.

This one is yet another Ali-X purchase (not a sponsor).

Oddly they show them in stock, but now say they can't deliver to my address.
