Today we're kicking off a four-part series as we bring in an excavator to expand our Ocean Picture Stone quarry. This isn't just about moving dirt, it's about uncovering thousands of pounds of beautiful gemstone that will eventually become slabs, cabochons, carvings, and other one-of-a-kind pieces.
In this first episode, we receive the excavator, walk it into the quarry, and put the hydraulic hammer to the test. How much solid rock can it actually break? Will our plan work? Before committing to the full excavation, we need to find out what this machine is capable of and just how big this project is going to be.
