Renting A U-Haul Between Countries?

In late 2023 I moved a geodesic dome from Canada to Minnesota. This required renting a truck, and we chose the company everyone thinks of for truck rentals.

So what was it like? The truck itself was fine, but actually renting it was a series of hassles and annoyances. Nothing too terrible or big, but just an ongoing low-level inconvenience dealing with anything relating to the company. From surprise charges to last-minute changes, poorly-defined agreements and deals, inconsistent website info, pretty much everything you'd except from a generic faceless corporation I guess.
