3 Incredible Gemstone Locations… and One AMAZING Discovery!

This trip was an absolute whirlwind of gemstones!
I took two high-end mineral collectors on a tour through the Kootenays, visiting three very different gemstone locations and hunting for some of the incredible minerals each spot is known for.
Our first stop was Kinbasket Lake, where we searched for garnet, kyanite and staurolite crystals. From there we headed to my Blu Starr Sapphire claim to hunt for star sapphires. Then, for our final stop, we joined my buddy Tra at his claim in search of beautiful aquamarine and smoky quartz crystals.
And every location delivered!
We found some amazing specimens throughout the trip, but nothing prepared us for what happened at the final location. My buddy Ron pulled an aquamarine crystal out of the ground that Tra says is the best Aqua crystal he has ever witnessed come from his claim!
Three gemstone locations, some spectacular finds, and one incredible crystal to finish off the adventure.
